About Us
How we started
Raygar Supplies was formed by Mr Ray Garlick on 1st August 1995, in a small 600sq. ft. industrial unit in Clarke Street, Derby.
Our main activity was the supply of Fixings & Fasteners, Hand & Power Tools, Silicone Sealants & Adhesives and Engineering Consumables both to the Trade as well as the Public.
Two months later I was joined by Mr Paul Booth, a very good friend and work colleague of the past, and became a 50/50 partnership. The company steadily expanded and with the introduction of Architectural Ironmongery to our existing range of products the company changed its name to become known as Raygar Architectural & Engineering Supplies (R.A.E.S. for short).
With 20 years experience and knowledge on all products in the range, the company
very quickly established itself as a major force in all industries. R.A.E.S. built
its reputation on the following 3 strengths. Its ability to be able to supply:-
1 ) A wide range of quality products (PRODUCTS)
2) At a time when the customer required them (SERVICE)
3) At a competitive price (PRICE)
New premises
Within 15 months R.A.E.S expansion programme took us to a new 1200sq. ft. unit in Clarke Street, Derby and it was at this point that extra staff were employed to compliment the companies continued growth. This growth continued at a rate that R.A.E.S changed from being a partnership to a limited Company. The growth was enhanced by R.A.E.S. investing in its staff by enrolling them on the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers diploma course. This was a 4 year course for both product knowledge, business law and financial appreciation.
